Meet our Optician

Cactus Rose Optical is a small, independent Optical Shop in the heart of Haskell, TX. Optician Aimee Davis built the shop around a simple idea: take time with every customer, choose frames that feel like you, and keep the experience warm — like West Texas hospitality with a rose on top.

Aimee never set out to become an Optician. Right after high school she applied for a receptionist job at an optical practice; that role was already filled, and they offered her an Optician position instead. She didn’t even know what an Optician was. Nearly 27 years later, it’s hard to imagine her doing anything else.

Along the way she’s worked across patient care, the lab, training, and running eyewear shops. Those years taught her to notice the small details — finding the right frame, figuring out why a pair isn’t sitting quite right, or putting a missing nose pad back on so someone’s favorite glasses get a little more life.

For Aimee, optical work is science, craftsmanship, fashion, and problem-solving, but it always comes back to people: earning trust and helping make someone’s world a little clearer. We work by appointment so your visit isn’t rushed and she can prepare for what you need.
